ZBrush3

I know there's a few good Alpha texture packs going around for Zbrush, and there's a few that are free - like here - but it's also useful to have a few more.

Here are a few alpha Textures I've created as I work on my own little projects. Some are tilable and can be used as stencils.

I'll keep creating more as I need them, and add them here.

I hope you find them useful.

XSI

Peter Peterson has created a handy RT DX9 shader node, that allows you to add a specular map and/or apha mask onto your realtime shader.
File hosted by PixelPickle.net: xsiShaders 1.0.0

Instuctions:

1) Unpack the attached xsiShaders.zip.
2) Open the Render Tree and update to activate the material shader.
3) Add a new node "Nodes -> RealTime DirectX -> DX FX".
4) Connect the DXFX2 output to the RealTime input for the material.
5) Switch Camera viewport to Realtime shaders -> DirectX9
6) Doubleclick the DXFX2 node in the render tree and browse to "phong.fx" where you unpacked the zip.
7) Under the DirectXFX_Parameters node, change the technique to "Textured_Diffuse_Specular".
8) Switch to the "Images" tab and setup the diffuseMap, specularMap and the UVs.
9) Tweak the color parameters.
